The role
This is a hands-on role which will help drive Pure Pet Foods promise to champion Paws (dogs) and People by ensuring our great product is produced to the highest standard and in a safe manner. We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Mixing Team Leader to oversee our AM mixing team (0555 to 1405) . The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of food production processes, and the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.
Duties and responsibilities
- Adhering to and promoting Pure Pet Foods Health, Safety and Quality Procedures and Systems. To help ensure the staff work in a safe manner and to report any unsafe practices or equipment.
- To assist managing labour resources and skills to maximise productivity and minimize costs within the AM mixing team.
- To assist in meeting the targets of the Production Plan and other customer requirements.
- Assessing team performance, providing feedback to team members and to the shift manager.
- To ensure that all mixes are produced to the specified quality, food safety standards and legal requirements, within the HACCP Plan and Food Safety Plan.
- To help keep the area clean and hygienic, maintaining best in show housekeeping standards.
- To communicate with, motivate, support, and guide staff.
- Identify any training gaps and working with the Production Manager to propose or provide training.
- To minimize waste of all types, including ingredients, packaging, products, power, time etc.
- To help document aspects such as daily product usage, outputs and any other KPI’s as requested by the Shift Manager.
- To help carry out investigations as required in the event of accidents or customer complaints.
- To be directly involved in stock-takes as required by the Shift Manager.
- To attend HACCP and Safety Meetings when requested.

It’s essential that you:
- Worked within a team leader role for a minimum of 1 year. Preferably within a food production environment.
- Worked within a food production role, blending or mixing products.
It'd be great if you:
- First Aid and Food Safety certification (preferred but not mandatory).
- FLT Licence
