The QA lead role

As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our Compliance team to cover both sites in Cleckheaton and Bradford (top of M606) as a Quality Assurance lead. The QA role ensures that all food products are manufactured to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The role safeguards consumer health and brand integrity by overseeing food safety systems, quality standards, and regulatory adherence throughout the production process. 

We are seeking a candidate who is available to cover afternoons (2-10), support our night team, and weekend shifts to drive quality standards

Duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Ensure the company’s Quality Management System is up to date and processes and procedures are being adhered to. Ensure compliance with SALSA and other relevant standards.
  • Check that raw materials, packaging and other product components involved in the production process are of suitable quality.
  • Ensure production records are completed accurately and in real time.
  • Ensure Critical Control Points are adhered to, and any food safety issues are raised immediately with the Head of Compliance and head of Operations.
  • Carry out environmental monitoring test swabs.
  • Carry out organoleptic assessments on finished products.
  • Review and audit hygiene and operational practices, procedures and document completion and report findings.
  • Carry out internal audits, such as GMP/hygiene audit, glass plastic audit, CCP audit. Supporting external audits.
  • Support training of employees, including inductions.
  • Perform various quality assurance testing on both raw and finished products. Monitor quarantine system.
  • Collecting and distributing samples for testing.
  • Review with Head of Compliance all customer complaints, support complaint investigations, including root cause analysis.
  • Ensure Health & Safety is everyone’s top priority. Ensure any Health & Safety issues are raised immediately.

It’s essential that you:

  • A food safety qualification or proven experience
  • You’ll have great communication skills - to collaborate with team members and communicate any issues or concerns (both verbal & written English)
  • A basic ability to use a IT.
  • Diligence: High levels of attention to detail are essential
  • Excellent at building relationships with individuals across Pure

  • A willingness to develop and grow within our Factory with a positive can-do attitude.
